Multiple Injury Visualization Following Head-On Amazon Truck Collision
This personal injury case involved a client who was involved in a head-on collision with an Amazon truck operated by an individual under the influence of drugs. The severity of the collision resulted in extensive, life-altering injuries.
The client sustained a severe traumatic brain injury, a below-knee amputation, multiple fractures, and internal organ injuries, followed by numerous treatments and surgical interventions. With injuries spanning multiple areas of the body, the attorneys needed a clear way to communicate the full scope of the trauma without overwhelming the viewer with medical information.

Challenge
One of the primary challenges in this case was conveying the full magnitude of the client’s injuries and subsequent treatments without overwhelming the viewer. With trauma spanning multiple anatomical regions and numerous medical interventions, the information needed to be presented in a way that was comprehensive and medically accurate, yet concise, organized, and easy for a lay audience to understand.
Visual Strategy
Our goal was to create a visual strategy that could adapt to different stages of the case and different audiences while maintaining the medical and anatomical accuracy necessary to tell the client’s story effectively.
To accomplish this, we developed a streamlined approach that prioritized the most significant injuries and treatment outcomes. Strategic camera movements, anatomical transitions, targeted callouts, and selective surgical visualization allowed us to move efficiently between multiple areas of the body while keeping the viewer focused on the most important details.
We also developed two versions of the Multiple Injury Summary animation to give the legal team greater flexibility in how the case was presented. The detailed version provided a comprehensive review of the client’s injuries and treatments, while the condensed version used targeted insets to communicate the affected anatomical regions more efficiently. Together, the two versions allowed the attorneys to tailor the level of detail to the audience, stage of litigation, and available presentation time.
Our Work
Our involvement in this case evolved alongside the litigation. During earlier stages, including demand letters and mediation, we created cost-effective still illustrations, including Multiple Injury Summary boards, TBI boards, colorized films, and a tracheostomy surgical board. These visuals allowed the attorneys to clearly present the client's injuries and medical findings without making a significant investment in animation early in the case.
As the case progressed toward trial, the visual strategy expanded into more comprehensive storytelling. Our team developed detailed and condensed Multiple Injury Summary animations that brought the individual injuries, treatments, and affected anatomical regions together into a cohesive visual narrative.
By scaling the level of detail and investment throughout the life of the case, the attorneys had impactful visuals available at each stage while reserving the most comprehensive animation work for when it could provide the greatest value

The case resulted in an eight-figure verdict for the client.
