Multiple Injury Trauma Following Motor Vehicle T-Bone Collision

This case involved a client who suffered extensive trauma after being T-boned on the driver’s side during a motor vehicle crash. The force of impact left her with numerous severe injuries, each affecting different regions of the body.
Motor vehicle collisions involving multiple injuries often require precise and highly detailed visual explanations. Because each injury contributes to the overall medical picture, it is essential for attorneys to clearly communicate the extent, severity, and interaction of the trauma to a jury or insurance carrier. Our team’s role was to help break down this complexity through medically accurate, easy-to-understand visual storytelling.

Challenge

Creating an animation that accurately represents multiple severe injuries presents unique difficulties. In this case, our team faced several key challenges:
Preventing visual overcrowding while showing numerous injuries across different regions of the body.

Strategically planning camera angles, layers, and timing to ensure each injury received proper visual focus.

Maintaining strict anatomical accuracy while preserving clarity for non-medical viewers.

Integrating radiology references such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs without overwhelming the viewer.

Balancing clinical precision with digestible visuals was essential to ensure the audience could understand both the complexity and the significance of the client’s trauma.

Visual Strategy

To meet the challenge of depicting numerous injuries without overwhelming the viewer, our strategy centered on:

  • A constant and controlled camera perspective, allowing the viewer to focus sequentially on each injury.

  • Isolating each area of trauma, providing clear emphasis on individual injuries before progressing to the next.

  • Integrating radiology imaging—colorized X-rays, CTs, and MRIs—directly into the animation for precise anatomical accuracy.

  • Maintaining visual clarity by using clean transitions, simplified layering, and medically accurate 3D models.

This strategic approach preserved the complexity of the injuries while making the presentation accessible and visually compelling.

Our Work

To support the legal team, Iconographics produced the following:

  • Multiple Injury Summary Animation visually detailing each significant region of trauma.

  • Colorized Radiology Films including enhanced X-ray, CT, and MRI images to highlight fractures, soft-tissue damage, and internal injuries.

  • Layered medical visuals combining surface anatomy, internal structures, and radiology overlays for full clarity.

These materials created a comprehensive visual record of the client’s injuries, allowing the jury to understand the full impact of the crash.

Results

The final visual presentation allowed the legal team to clearly communicate the client’s extensive trauma in a way that was both medically accurate and easy for jurors and decision-makers to understand. The structured injury-by-injury breakdown helped illustrate:
The severity of each injury

How the T-bone collision caused the trauma

The cumulative impact on the client’s overall health

By transforming complex medical information into intuitive visual storytelling, Iconographics strengthened the case and helped demonstrate the full extent of the client’s injuries.
