Case Overview
Challenge
This case involved explaining a complex sequence of medical failures surrounding a patient with pre-existing conditions. Kaur entered the ER with myocarditis, shortness of breath, and abnormal echocardiogram results. Despite clear signs of risk, she was recommended for an elective procedure without proper stabilization or risk communication. She was discharged with unstable vitals, leading to a fall, fractured neck, cardiac arrest, and multiple subsequent medical interventions. The challenge was simplifying this layered medical story to help a jury understand the negligence and causal connection to her injuries.

Visual Strategy: Our goal was to build a Patient Care Timeline — a visual journey that clearly illustrated Kaur’s experience from hospital admission to the resulting cascade of injuries. We used a mix of authentic medical documents, visualized timelines, anatomical illustrations, and customized diagrams to connect the dots for both the legal team and the jury.
