Case Overview
Challenge
Challenge
The client faced several key challenges:
Complexity of Injuries: The plaintiff suffered widespread trauma, including fractures, organ damage, and respiratory complications. Capturing the full scope of these injuries in a clear and cohesive way was critical.
Communicating to Multiple Audiences: The visuals needed to resonate with both medical professionals and laypersons (e.g., jurors, mediators), requiring a careful balance between anatomical accuracy and viewer accessibility.
Visual Admissibility Risk: Although visuals are often admissible, there was uncertainty regarding their acceptance in court. The visuals had to be created to evidentiary standards, while also remaining useful for pre-trial and settlement purposes.
Visual Strategy
Visual Strategy
The attorney came to us seeking a compelling way to visualize the full scope of injuries sustained—ranging from skeletal fractures to respiratory trauma and organ damage. After a detailed review of radiology imaging, operative reports, and emergency room documentation, we proposed:
A Multiple Injury Summary animation to illustrate the extent and variety of trauma.
Optional individual surgical animations (splenectomy, diaphragm and pericardium repair, mucus plug removal, rib fixation), which were scoped but not selected due to budget.
Integration of colorized 3D reconstructions based on DICOM data for improved anatomical accuracy and clarity.
Inclusion of medical affidavit support from a radiologist to support admissibility.
Despite the judge not allowing visual evidence at trial—a rare but possible outcome—the client was thoroughly impressed with the work and expressed strong interest in partnering with us on future cases.

Outcome
The case resulted in a $5.3 million verdict—achieved without visual aids being admitted.
The client, new to using legal visuals, expressed strong satisfaction and intends to use our services again.
The visual strategy remains a high-value asset for marketing and pre-trial mediation in future cases.
Testimonial
“This case significantly deepened our understanding of how to effectively synthesize multiple complex injuries into a single, cohesive visual narrative. Working with diverse trauma types and high-resolution DICOM imaging pushed us to refine our 3D reconstruction workflows and enhance our ability to communicate detailed medical information clearly. The experience has directly strengthened our capabilities in producing high-impact, anatomically accurate Multiple Injury Summaries—especially in cases involving catastrophic injuries.”
